23 more artifacts are recognized as national treasures

On December 25, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam signed Decision No. 2198/QD-TTg on the recognition of national treasures (set 10, 2021). Accordingly, there were 23 artifacts and groups of artifacts recognized as national treasures, bringing the total number of national treasures as of this moment to 238.

The phoenix-carved Bodhi leaf of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel

In this set, the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center had two groups of artifacts recognized: The phoenix-carved Bodhi leaf (Bodhi leaf A20-2918) and two royal porcelain bowls (Bowl A9-2714 and Bowl A22-3071). Previously, the Kinh Thien Palace’s dragon handrail and the Co Loa Collection of arrowhead molds were also recognized as national treasures in the 9^th set (2020).

The list of artifacts and groups of artifacts recognized as national treasures (set 10) includes:

1. Gia Phu bronze drum (dated from the Dong Son Culture, III-II century BC, now kept at the Lao Cai Provincial Museum);
2. Dong Son culture bronze jar (dated from III-II century BC, now kept at the Quang Ninh Provincial Museum);
3. Giong Lon golden mask (dated from the I century BC to the II century AD, now kept at the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial Museum);
4. Long Giao bronze “qua” collection (dated from I-III century, now kept at the Dong Nai Provincial Museum);
5. Relief of Buddhist of Linh Son Bac (dated from III-IV century, now kept at the Management Board of Oc Eo Cultural Relic, An Giang province);
6. Nandi ring of Giong Cat (dated in the V century, now kept at the Management Board of Oc Eo Cultural Relics, An Giang Province);
7. Vishnu statue of Binh Hoa (dated around the VI-VII century, now kept at the Dong Nai Provincial Museum);
8. Gò Thành elephant-carved gold leaves collection (dated from VI-VIII century, now kept at the Tien Giang Provincial Museum);
9. My Son A10 altar (dated from IX-X century, now kept at Temple A10, My Son sacred site, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province);
10. Phoenix-carved Bodhi leaf of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel (dated from the XI century, now kept at the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center);
11. An Bien white glazed ceramic collection (dated from the XI-XII century, now kept in the An Bien Private Collection, Hai Phong city);
12. Relief of Dharmapala of Ma Chua (dated in the XII century, now kept at the Binh Dinh Provincial Museum);
13. An Sinh jar with glazed brown pattern (dated in the XIII century, now kept at the Quang Ninh Provincial Museum);
14. Tran dynasty brown glazed cylindrical jar (dated in the XIII-XIV century, currently kept at the Quang Ninh Provincial Museum);
15. Buddhist stone altar of Xuan Lung pagoda (dated in the XIV century, now kept at Xuan Lung pagoda, Xuan Lung commune, Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province);
16. Two porcelain bowls of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long (dated XV century, currently kept at the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center);
17. Multicolor glazed pottery jar (dated in the XV century, currently kept at the Quang Ninh Provincial Museum);
18. The terracotta pagoda of An Xa temple (dated from the XVI to XVII century, currently kept at An Xa temple, An Vien commune, Tien Lu district, Hung Yen province);
19. Tu Ky Buddhist temple pillar-stele (dated in the XVII century, now kept at the National Museum of Vietnamese History);
20. Keo Buddhist temple pillar-stele (dated in the XVII century, currently kept at Keo pagoda, Duy Nhat commune, Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province);
21. The golden seal “Hoàng đế Tôn thân chi bảo” (dated 1827, now kept at the National Museum of Vietnamese History);
22. Woodblocks of the book “Hải Thượng y tông tâm lĩnh” (dated 1885, currently kept at the Bac Ninh Provincial Museum);
23. Collection of the emblem of Vietnam sketches by artist Bui Trang Chuoc (dated 1953-1955, currently kept at the National Archives Center III, Department of State Records and Archives, Ministry of Internal Affairs).

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Presidents of the People’s Committees at all levels where the national treasures are located, the ministers, the heads of the ministry-level agencies and the agencies directly under the Government, heads of functional agencies and authorities to manage these national treasures in accordance with the law on cultural heritage.
